Are there problems meeting up with Folks in GW?
Here's a general question about how it's possible to meet up with folks that you already know from outside of GW.
I assume that each "place" - town or outpost - is implemented multiple times potentially. So if there are more than say 500 people in a town, you get a second town. And nobody is the wiser, unless you decide you want to meet someone in a town at a certain time. How does it work? Is there a link to a place this is all described? I looked in the wiki and the manual, but nothing in the manual talked about it and I don't know what to search for in the Wiki. Here are a few issues:
GW looks very polished and thought out, so I'm confident there are good answers, it's just that I'm new, and I've seen some games like SecondLife and 2MOONS that have very different solutions to this whole problem of an MMORPG. Servers can be switched and so can districts.
Make sure you organize whether you want Europe, American, or Asian servers, what language, and then what district number you want. As an alternative the easiest place to meet usually will be International District 1. |

Whoa.. that's way too simple..
I saw that, but thought it was just a language selector. I see now that I will be able to tell how many different instances there are of the server I'm in. Cool...
I'll bet that is in the manual. Thanks, - Windy |

Make sure to organise where u are going to meet the person first, if you need to contact them friends list is helpful, shwing u which character they are on at that time.
Also, another thing to consider is meeting in international districts where there are fewer people, easier to find each other. |

pm eachother.
find a district, i.e. International 1. communicate said district with whoever you're trying to play with. and if you really want to know how many 'instances' or districts there are, count them. i don't see why you would though. it's really just that ridiculously simple. and what server your on only affects the server which you connect to and what your ping is like. if you're on a US server and a friend is on a euro server, you can both go to any district, US or euro anyhow to play with eachother. international to make it easy. |

Within the game you can Whisper (PM) anyone anywhere to arrange to meet. If you arrange to meet at a particular town, for example, you can simply plan to meet in the highest numbered instance (district) of that town, but even if you don't all get into the same district, it's a simple mouse click to select the proper one from the drop down list. So, in answer to your question - no, there are no problems meeting up with Folks in GW. Last edited by Quaker; Oct 01, 2008 at 04:43 PM // 16:43.. |
